Hope I don't accidentally get graded on that last post! Ha-ha! Ha... 😳 (will that emoji work on here? Are emojis web safe? Is that the term you're supposed to use? I don't know. Somebody tell me how this looks on a Microsoft tablet.) Okay! I am actually doing my school project this time. The last post was supposed to be a paragraph long introduction but then it turned out I am so good at procrastinating I don't even realize when I'm doing it so I wasted like half an hour when I could have been writing this masterpiece instead. Anyway. s. I'll keep this short. Basically I am taking the concept behind my YouTube channel (make an above average quality school project and then pass it off as below average content) (like and subscribe) and adapting it into a blog post. You know what to expect. Don't read this if you are looking for Moonrabbit-related information or good COVID-19 coverage, and do read this if you are... I don't know, really. I've been stuck on this joke for like 10 minutes. Why are you reading this?
... You might wonder why I am coming down on this blog post so hard but still posting it instead of just submitting it in a Google doc. To that kind-of-a-question I will give you two very-much-answers to balance things out. 1: We have to publish our essays somewhere so they'll have an impact. (Hey, maybe one of the guys at the click farm in Taiwan I sent $10,000 to is having a hard time figuring out if a quarantine hobby is the right move. I hope this helps you, Jui-En.) 2: We have to publish these all to an assignment sharing site and I'm tryna redirect students on school computers to my website so I can Chase👏That👏Clout!!!! Ok anyway. Here is a moderately convincing argument for why you (yes, you!) should get up off your butt and pursue a hobby and a better life and new friends. (Admit it, your friends kinda suck. I've seen the way they talk to you. Don't lie to me. It's okay, you can join our #lunch-table channel on the school Discord server while you figure things out.) Rule #1 Evidence Reason Number One 1: Taking up a hobby in quarantine is a good way to while away the hours while still being productive and not feeling like crap I'll be the first one to admit how tempting it is to try counting the little bumps on your disgusting popcorn ceiling to make the time go by faster but we’ve been in quarantine for a few months now and it doesn’t look like we’re going anywhere any time soon. Not only is wasting your time a good way to make yourself go crazy, but it’s also just a waste of time (you heard that right). Even in quarantine, not doing anything for four months is pretty depressing and this is real time you have at your disposal that you won't get back once we're over this. Our lives don’t just completely pause because they suck. Come out of this better, not worse! Learn how to juggle! Numba 2: A hobby keeps you interesting If you don’t get off your couch for six months, when we finally get back to school you and I won’t have a lot to talk about. You’re gonna be really boring! While you were sitting on the couch for six months, I was sitting on the couch for six months crocheting! Do you have any idea how many girls that gets you? Many legendary grandparents have said “Only boring people get bored,” and while that might not be completely true, it is very true that if you haven’t spent your quarantine weaving baskets or engaged in Hummel bidding wars online when we finally get to hang out again you’ll be left in the dust as the ladies crowd around me begging to hear the story of my crocheted Tunisian scarf just one more time. I’m telling you guys it’s gonna happen. Hide yo girl. Part III: ONLY cool people have hobbies That's right. It might seem hard to believe at first, but it is completely true: nobody that is not cool has a hobby. wait if you're not cool you don't have a- yeah okay that makes sense I'm pretty sure that it has been scientifically proven that having a hobby makes you cool. Case in point: some of the Moonrabbit High Council members have adopted quarantine hobbies and they are all very cool. Come, and we will learn! Thorin (mod): Making music! Thorin has been spending his free time making music! He says it's a "nice way to pass time and feel productive." Should we start expecting debut quarantine albums? "If I'm not being creative what's the point" Esther (admin): Digital art! Esther has gotten into digital art over the break! She started because "I was awake at 2 AM and had nothing to do so I started drawing my friend and it actually turned out pretty good." Esther says (like Thorin) (and me) a hobby is a good way to take up time and it's really cool to see what you've made after you've been at it for long enough. Roman (mod): Running! Okay, I guess running isn't really a hobby but it's still a good way to listen to music or a podcast and not just sit around or vacuum. I have also been exploring my neighborhood a lot (walking, not running cause I don't trust like that) and it's pretty cool to follow a road you've never been on before only to discover it goes right to somewhere you didn't know was near you before (even cooler if that place is a deli and you can get a soda). Henry (me): Crosswords! I guess I'm not that committed but I started doing the mini crosswords in the big puzzle extravaganza section of the New York Times mom left out like a week ago and I am... improving at them. Slowly. I did a couple big ones but they're too stressful and I'd rather play Animal Crossing Well guys it's that time again what are you doing to pass the time any new hobbies did you like the article are you crazy yet is the pizza here (yes it is) oh man I'm hungry BYE -Henry
